Thermostat set to 60 degrees on arrival. Found furnace cabinet doors Not properly secured, preventing door switch from closing. Someone has been using screwdrivers/tools to take off equipment doors and not putting them back on properly. All equipment doors/panels must be secured properly for operations and safety. Replaced 16x25x1 filter Inspected furnace and condenser operations. Inspected refrigerant level. Tested capacitor and contactor. Washed lint off outdoor unit coil/dryer vent is nearby. System is cooling properly.
System frozen heavily upon arrival. Unit is 2006 Goodman heatpump system R22 refrigerant. 20x25x1 filter was extremely dirty. Replaced filter, then defrosted system. Daycare center has two systems. The other system is a 1990. 9 Seer heatpump system R22. Also has 20x25x1 filter that was very dirty. Replaced this filter also. This system has a failing condenser fan motor that needs to be replaced and the coil has not been cleaned in a very long time. The system that was iced/frozen is low on refrigerant and has leaks both in the evaporator coil and at king valve of outdoor unit. Replacement is recommended. Estimates will be provided.

Upon arrival, switched thermostat to cool mode and set the temperature down below ambient. Felt air coming out of the vents. Airflow is satisfactory. The system is not producing cooler. Found outdoor condensing unit not running. Found no voltage at the lines in on the contactor. Found 24 V on the low side of the contactor indicating that the unit is receiving the call to cool. Found the circuit breaker had been tripped for the outside unit. Reset the circuit breaker in the outside unit turns on and starts running. Checked condensing fan motor amperage and compressor amperage. The system is functioning normally after resetting circuit breaker. Installed fresh 20 x 25 x 1 filter per customer request. The customer would like to speak to a comfort specialist and explore replacement options as the unit is an older R22 unit and the life expectancy of the system is minimal. Sent email to service regarding the appointment with the comfort specialist.
