Suction line solder joint at outdoor unit for upstairs system is leaking. On arrival there was a pair of vice grip pliers with some insulation over leak. To repair solder location will have to be repaired, pressure test performed, deep vacuum pulled, and system recharged with refrigerant. System will require 7 lb 410a refrigerant. Estimate created and provided to customer. Re-braising of solder joint including process pressure test and vacuum. Made repairs and system is cooling.
Inspected downstairs system thoroughly. Tested furnace capacitor and outdoor unit capacitor and both are two spec 5 µF and 35 x 5 µF. Refrigerant operating pressures are 133 under 274 5° of superheat coil utilizes a piston style metering device. Thermostat appears to be functioning normally. Tested system multiple times without any issues. I believe during maintenance I added condensate tablets to the condensate removal pump and those tablets broke down sludge that may have momentarily clogged tubing and causing unit not to run. Today I poured a full gallon of water through the condensate removal pump and it worked well. System is working well at this time 19.5° of temperature differential. No charge warranty return service maintenance performed less than a week ago.
Replaced evaporator coil and recharged the system to manufacture specs.
Defrost control board replacement Oem upstairs system. Replaced board and tested operations. Also completed maintenance on both systems. Inspected electrical connections and components. Inspected refrigerant levels. Cleared drain lines and treated condensate pump. Washed down outdoor condenser coils. Both systems are operating properly at this time.
